7 Months

Seven months already little man. I can't believe it! On good friday it will be a year ago that we learned we were having a baby boy. We were so excited for Jack to have a brother. You two have definately been acting more and more like brothers lately. Jack is always to trying to get you to play with him, and you are not quite sure how to react. Many times, you are scared, probably due to Jack being a bit too rough with you. Don't worry baby boy, I got your back! You are starting to get around now. Even though you aren't creeping yet, you can scoot. I put you down by the living couch today and a few minutes later you and the remote control were over to the chair. I think it was a combination of moving backwards and spinning in circles. Although the other day you got yourself up on all 4, and have a couple of times since. I don't think it will be long. And still no teeth! That I am thankful for. You sure enjoy being outside or watching your brother outside if you can't be. Also, I put you in the nursery for the first time this weekend. They said you did well, but were getting tired and started to fuss at the end. It was sad to put you in there, but you are just so noisy in church.

7 months stats: 17lbs. 8oz.

Things to remember at 7 months:
*Your love of food! Just like daddy.
*How you are always flipped over and looking at me when I come get you out of bed.
*How peaceful you are in your carseat now.
*You spin in circles when on the floor.
*You enjoy puffs now and don't gag on them!
*How you love to just shout whenever you want. You aren't mad or anything, just excited.

Pete Scott

I was trying to get the boys downstairs, and as I was picking up Cole, I said to Jack "let's go peep squad" he starting jumping saying "Let's go pete scott, let's go pete scott!"

Family Time

Last weekend we had such a great time together. We actually had a little down time while both boys napped at the same time, then had a bed full of boys as that of course didn't last too long. They love jumping and playing in our bed.

Almost Spring!

Though technically the first day of spring isn't for another 2 or 3 days, it sure has been feeling spring around here. This week has been wonderful....playing outside, playing outside, playing outside. Jack has finally been able to run off some of his energy, get on his John Deere, we have gone for runs, played on the swing set, played in the sandbox, cut some bushes...you name, Jack did it. It was like he was afraid the nice weather would go away so he had to do the most he could in the time he was outside. Needless to say, after this little tease the forecast is flurries on Sunday. Thank you Chicago! Cole got to experience playing out in the yard this week too. I brought out his exersaucer for him to jump in while Jack ran around and he just loved having the new scenery to look at, and tractors run into him. The other night we were all sitting on the edge of the deck, Cole in his exersaucer, Jack on the John Deere...Jack drives right up to us to see what we are doing, and it was like you could see his brain debating this move and he just decided to go for it...he guns the jd and rams into Cole. Mom, Megan and I all sat on the steps in disbelief of what just happened, and I think Jack did to. Cole had no idea what to think, then just started crying. Let's just say Jack hasn't done that again! :)

It's been so long since I really blogged. Things have just seemed so busy around here lately. I started my etsy site (http://www.etsy.com/shop/misslis81) and since that has started I made first $100 this week. It's been fun, creating and hoping others will like my stuff. Megan is joining me on this adventure and going to be making headbands to go along the hats and minky binky blankies. I had an order for 6 beanies this week, so I have been crocheting like crazy. Not to mention trying to run. I am doing a 10K in May with Laura and Noelle from small group. I feel like I will do ok, but it's tough. I have been running in town here pushing both boys in the BOB. Thank goodness for a good jogging stroller or I might be dying out there. Well here a few pics from this week. Hopefully I can get back in the habit of sharing stories about the boys.

The Little Things

Jack and Cole are learning something new everday. For Cole, rolling over and before long crawling and standing up next to stuff. For Jack, new words. He calls his Disney movie "UP" by the name of Pig-Stars (Pixar). While this might not be worth sharing on the blog I thought it was cute. We go through his animal book a few nights a week. He now calls the Porcupine by name; Porky-Pine. Those are the little moments that make a week.

All ready?

I gave Cole a bottle the other night and he grabbed it right out of my hand and starting drinking it on his own. I just keep thinking that he is so little still and forget that he is developing and growing so much and doing so many new things. I would like the pause button please.

Dinner time..kind of!

The other night I was trying to feed Cole in the kitchen. I had the sweet potatoes and pears all ready to go. Jack had already eaten at Megan's house, so he was supposed to be picking up the cookie cutters that were all over the floor. Instead of putting them in the bucket, he starts throwing them..under normal conditions he would have gotten into trouble. However, this time, Cole starts cracking up. Every cutter that hits the floor, Cole goes from straight faced to hysterical, then back to straight faced. In that moment, I would try and give him a bite of sweet potatoes, then Jack would throw another cookie cutter and SPLAT, out comes the sweet potatoes as he cracks up. It was a vicious cycle, until I sent Jack out of the kitchen.

Manners

We strive to teach our children good manners. I think we have done a great job and it shows in 2 different ways. 1) When jack interacts with others there is always a "please" and "thank you" involved. When Jack is finished eating he asks to be excused from the table.
I think the real test though is; 2) When I do something that requires an "excuse me" or "please" and Jack politely reminds me to use my manners as well. Who's teaching who?
